Emanuele Strano

Basically I'm an architect that is trying to be a scientist. My main interests are related to the urbanization processes and the form and functions of cities. My research follows a multidisciplinary research approach that is built upon complex network theory, urban morphology, geo-statistic, GIS, evolutionary biology and bio-inspired computation. I started my research activities with Prof. Sergio Porta at UDSU (Urban Design Studies Unit) at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow where I'm research assistant and MRes student. I'm also involved in research activities with OISD (Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development) Oxford Brookes University, the Physics Institute of San Carlo at the University of San Paolo and with LASIG, Laboratory of Geographic Information System, EPFL, Losan. At the International Centre for Unconventional Computing I'm working with Prof. Andrew Adamatzky and Jeff Jones on Physarum simulation of human transportation network and the use of bio-inspired computation models into the urban planning.
