I am a neuroscientist with an interest in the electrophysiology of mycelial networks and the commonalties in electrical signalling between species. I received my PhD from Cardiff University in 2013 and continued working at Cardiff on a number of research projects until joining the Unconventional Computing Laboratory at UWE in 2020. My PhD involved investigating the epigenetic mechanisms underlying addictive behaviour. Other projects I have worked on include an MRC funded project investigating the effect of pharmaceutical compounds on the survival and integration of stem cell grafts in a model of Parkinson’s disease and a BBSRC funded project investigating the non-spatial functions of the retrosplenial cortex using a variety of techniques including in vivo 2-photon calcium imaging. I am currently employed as a research associate on the H2020 FUNGAR project.
